"[Moultrie's Ounce of Faith is] an exuberant display of buoyancy, the action did not let up for thirty minutes."
We have presented more than 50 world premieres since Artistic Director Michael Pink arrived in 2002. The tradition continues with these new works from Darrell Grand Moultrie and Aleix Mañé. A Princess Grace Award Winner, Moultrie recently premiered works at Jacob’s Pillow and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater at the Lincoln Center. Spanish choreographer Aleix Mañé was discovered through our international competition, Genesis.
Alejandro Cerrudo’s Extremely Close premiered at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and has since been seen on stages all around the country. Set to piano scores by Philip Glass and Dustin O’Halloran, this incomparable work combines fascinating choreography and clever set design to pull the audience into a hauntingly beautiful dream.
